«For quite somo time I have been thinking about a magazine of only pictures and captions; in my mind I´ve been recalling early Berlin pictorial journalism of the ´20s and ´30s, publications like the Berliner Illustrirte Zeitung andothers, which were part of my daily life as a young man. I also decided I was through with coffee table books which nowseem old-fashioned and cumbersome to me. This collection of portraits is about men and women who, fordifferent reasons came hefore my camera. Some were friends, some bocame friends, some remained total strangers. But all had this in common: They had all achieved lame or notoriety.They have presented their personal fantasies to the world. Many of them have excited the imagination of the public. This first issue will be followed by others at irregular intervals, whenever I feel I have something to say with my camera.
